Stanley Head

Year 6 had an amazing few days visiting Stanley Head and taking part in lots of activities to develop their geographical skills. 🧭They did mapping skills, looked at ordinance survey symbols, an orienteering activity onsite. They then used maps to navigate around Bagnall village. On the second day, they took part in a river study of the River Dane, starting at the source on the moors near Buxton and lower down measured the flow and profile of the riverbed. Year 6 discovered that the ground was peaty and they could feel it bounce when they jumped! They also discovered that the ground holds A LOT of water - as Mr Amison discovered when he missed his footing! See if you can spot him on these pictures!

A huge well done to our Year 6 children! You worked so hard, had a great time and were fantastic role models for our school.
